Pamela has Project managed several voluntary organisations and community groups and have been very instrumental in bridging the gap between black minority ethnic voluntary organisations and Statuary organisations in order to enable effective partnership working to enhance the delivery of service for people experiencing mental ill health and their carers. Pamela has worked closely with Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust and Primary Care Trust (City) to ensure that the voices of the seldom are are heard and respected. Pamela is renowned for her passion, enthusiasms and successes in engaging directly with the community and raising awareness of health issues that is prevalent in the African/ African Caribbean Communities  eg diabetic, mental health, high blood pressure and prostate cancer. Pamela is keen to see a change in culture in addressing  the longstanding issue where some group are not accessing services until they are at crisis point. Pamela’s hope is to be able to support this process through her current role focuses on implementing the priorities and recommendations of the RADIATE and Rising Awareness and Prevention of type 2 Diabetes as a project assistant at the centre.
