Dr Natalie Darko

Community Lead Researcher

Dr Natalie Darko is an experienced academic and researcher, who has conducted extensive national and international based research exploring communities’ experiences of health and physical activity. Dr Darko is Community Lead Researcher for the Centre of Black and Minority Ethnic  Health East Midlands. Her current role focuses on implementing the priorities and recommendations of the RADIATE (Rising Awareness and Prevention of type 2 Diabetes) with a particular focus on addressing physical activity and nutritional behaviours. She is currently working with the National Centre for Exercise and Sport Medicine, at Loughborough University to facilitate public patient involvement activities and develop healthy living interventions that recognise and take into account the cultural traditions, beliefs and practices of Black and Minority Ethnic groups.
