Andrew Willis

Dr Andrew Willis has experience of carrying out a variety of academic research projects aimed at assessing the effectiveness of community based interventions aimed at preventing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. He was awarded his PhD in 2015 following work carried out at the Leicester Diabetes Centre assessing the effectiveness of a community pharmacist initiated screening pathway for type 2 diabetes.

His current role focuses on conducting evidence synthesis and designing and carrying out evaluation of the activities of the BME centre in improving the health and wellbeing of local BME communities in the east midlands. His academic work including grant writing, MSc student supervision and supporting collaborating institutions with research design and advice on engaging community members in the research design process and implementation of research findings.
