Mental health and technology survey launched

Views are being sought on how technology can help people with mental health problems.

Online support groups, smartphone apps, computer games, virtual reality, virtual therapists, robots….so many big emerging ideas about how digital technology can be used for mental health. But what’s the best way to use the technology?

In response a survey has been launched as part of the ‘Asking the right questions’ project, which aims to decide on the top 10 most pressing questions about digital technology for mental health.

Led by MindTech, the project then aims to share the findings with researchers so that future research targets these priorities.

This project is being run in partnership with the James Lind Alliance and Mental Health Foundation and is being supported by a host of organisations.

The top ten questions will be published in December 2017. To keep up-to-date with the project contact Lucy Simons, who is from the University of Nottingham’s Institute of Mental Health and is the project coordinator.
