FREE Film Night

September 17, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

As part of the University of Leicester’s Wellbeing Matters programme, this is a free film screening of ‘Call me Crazy’. A film showcasing in an interesting and engaging way, the lives and stories of five individuals, who either experience mental health problems themselves or have friends and family that suffer from mental ill-health.

“This is a compilation of 5 stories surrounding mental illness with an all-star cast. The first story is about Lucy, a Pre-Law student who struggles with schizophrenia and suffers a break-down when she stops her meds to prove the diagnosis is wrong. The second story is about Grace, the daughter of a bi-polar mother whose manic episode turns dangerous. The third story is about Alison, the sister of Lucy, who struggles to live in a family that is ruled by her sister’s sickness. The fourth story is about Eddie, a stand-up comedian whose jokes take a dark turn as he struggles with depression. Finally, the last story is about Maggie, a recently returned veteran suffering from PTSD as a result of military sexual trauma.”

Doors open at 6:30pm and the runtime is 1h 25 minutes.

This event is open to all and includes free snacks.
