Centre commended by global leader

The Centre for Black and Minority Ethnic Health East Midlands (CBME) has been praised for successfully organising focus group sessions for an international firm.

Focus groups were arranged by the CBME on behalf of the healthcare information and technology company about meal time insulin use and design of the cartridges.

Very pleased with the service provided – throughout all stages of process

The organisation was “very pleased with the service provided – throughout all stages of process” and they also said they would recommend the centre to other researchers.

When asked to describe what was positive about the service, a company’s representative said: “Process was well organised from recruiting phase through to execution of focus group, the team was responsive and communicative throughout the process.”

Further praise included: “Recruitment for participants was completed well ahead of schedule – with due concern given to recruiting a mixed group of patients (with respect to diabetes type/ age/ gender etc.).”

The Centre is working to reduce health inequality in the region by sharing resources and promoting research.

It is funded by the National Institute for Health Research Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (NIHR CLAHRC) East Midlands, a partnership of regional health services, universities and industry which turns research into cost-saving and high-quality care through cutting-edge innovation.
